Areas Of PracticeConsultation
The consultation is an opportunity for the prospective client to obtain information and advice. It is also where the prospective client and the attorney assess whether there will be an ongoing attorney-client relationship. Depending on how much information is involved, these consultation sessions can take from one to two hours for which we charge at our regular hourly rates.
Even if we do not become your attorneys, this meeting is one in which an attorney-client relationsip is established insofar as the meeting and the discussions we have are confidential and privileged. When making the appointment for the consultation, you may be asked to bring with you certain documents (e.g., financial records, tax returns, legal documents) and to compile certain information (e.g., a list of assets and debts). It is also suggested that you prepare for this meeting an agenda for yourself, including a list of questions that you want to ask. Usually most of the typical questions are addressed before they are asked, but you may find your own agenda helpful in assuring that we discuss the issues that are important to you. Please contact us to schedule an appointment. If you do so by email, we will promptly get back to you. |
